Erich Korngold

About

Korngold was a child prodigy who composed decent music before his teens and greatly impressed his contemporaries Puccini and Mahler. In the 1930s Korngold made his most important career decision when he decided to leave Austria and move to Hollywood to compose for films under director Max Reinhardt. Korngold became a leading pioneer in film scoring and helped define the conventions of that emerging genre.
