Ernie Andrews

About

The stellar baritone Ernie Andrews grew to prominence in the late 1950s as one of the last great Kansas City jazz singers. His rich, warm vocal tone recalled his contemporary Joe Williams, and his repertoire spanned from classic Swing and Traditional Jazz standards to contemporary Bop and Soul Jazz. After several lengthy breaks from recording, he made a comeback in Los Angeles in the '90s, fronting an all-star combo.
