Faster Pussycat

They weren't the brightest pennies but Faster Pussycat knew it as well as anybody and, better yet, didn't care. They just wanted to play the slickest, fakest pop metal of the 1980s, mimicking the things that made Motley Crue famous. Faster Pussycat wasn't a hit, but it's crunchy as hell and way sleazier than anything Poison ever did. That counts for something.

Supposedly, these glammers are the plastic (isn't that the term?) Aerosmith rip, as opposed to the authentically (right?) nasty boys in Guns N' Roses. They sure do mow down their allotted share of dynamite riffs on side one, though--fit right onto Toys in the Attic. And if side two is pretty generic, it's only a rip, its meaner impulses undercut by Russ Meyer camp. (Grade - B)
