Based in Minnesota, Four Letter Lie offer raging post-hardcore gilt with moments of such delicacy that the songs on their Victory Records debut often sound like the work of two different bands, and this happens during a given song. For our country's ADD-ravaged, emotionally unpredictable youth, this is a boon, for sure. On top of the constant shifts in temperament, Four Letter Lie manage to underpin the pretty parts with a positively thudding bass-and-guitar wallop. And those pretty parts sure are pretty.
