Rhapsody

After crafting four near-brilliant pop records to little sales, Free Design turned their attention to the children's market for this 1970 set. It was too weird for parents (look at that tragic clown cover painting!) and quickly disappeared before slowly resurfacing as a cult favorite for soft-rock fans and jaded indie rockers. Some of the tracks adventurous adults should dig -- "Ronda 'Go Round," "Kites Are Fun" and "Bubbles" (which has lyrics that illustrate how kids are often aware of all the grown-up problems around them).
