Frosty

About

Frosty were active in the early 1990s in the Miami area, where they were members of a chaotic and legendary scene that included seminal noise groups Harry Pussy and To Live & Shave In L.A. Led by the antics of openly gay frontman Lance Williams, who had a predilection for truck stop romance, attacking audiences at live shows (literally), and living some kind of gay Jim-Morrison-meets-Charles-Bukowski freakout lifestyle of sex, drugs and deprivation, the group barely managed a single and a full length, Liquor Drink, before members began to quit, reportedly so they wouldn't die. Frosty were anything but the sort of pro-gay punk-pop other "out" groups such as Pansy Division became known for. They were not political at all. They were just weird and doomed. Their songs are a brilliant combination of garage-punk brevity and pure noise abrasiveness. Not for the faint of heart.
