Fun Boy Three

Producer David Byrne and arranger Nicky Holland help make Waiting a big improvement over FB3's oddly fulfilling, yet still one-note, debut. Fun Boy Three's defeated Brit-meets-Stunned Immigrants viewpoint still holds but this time out Terry Hall's emotions start to boil over. So, things go from the blank-faced irony of "We're Having All the Fun" to the romantic bitterness of "The Tunnel of Love" and end with the dazed anger of "The More I See" and "Going Home." Few know that Terry Hall co-wrote "Our Lips Are Sealed" (included here), which remains one of the best songs of the 1980s.
