Gas Huffer rumbled out of the Northwest in 1989 with a Garage Rock swagger and a propensity to make a hell of a lot of noise. They were formed by Tom Price, formerly of the U-Men, a band credited with being an early brick in the foundation of Seattle's Grunge scene. After an early EP Ethyl, the band received wider notoriety by signing to Seattle's Empty Records in 1991 and releasing the Psychobilly-influenced Janitors of Tomorrow. Their second album, in 1992, Integrity Techology and Service (Empty), found Gas Huffer exploring similar musical territory.

They eventually made the jump to a major label, Epitaph Records, in 1994 and released One Inch Masters, adding backing vocals to their Garage Rock in the process. Two subsequent releases -- The Inhumane Ordeal of Special Agent Gas Huffer and Just Beautiful Music -- were released in 1996 and 1998, respectively. Over their career, Gas Huffer has refined its Garage Rock sound with vocal harmonies and structured leads, but have always managed to keep their tongue-in-cheek approach intact.
