Gavin Castleton

Singer-songwriter/multi-instrumentalist Gavin Castleton has lent his talents to a wide array of projects since the mid '90s and this, his eighth album released outside the corporate world of major labels, reflects that broad palette. Applying a Jack Johnson-ish white boy soul flavor to euro-indie melodies and meticulously crafted, way-smarter-than-radio pop songs, Castleton and female lead vocalist Lauren Coleman bounce off each other like a pair of highly competent flirts. Falsettos, compacted jam rock vamping, dancefloor funk, club beats -- Castleton clearly needs to mess with everything.
