U.K./Euro Techno

Whereas U.S. techno has largely remained true to the purity of sound established by the Detroit pioneers, in the U.K. and Europe techno has been subject to endless mutation and cross-pollination, ultimately resulting in breakaway genres such as hard house and trance. The bald techno boffins of the early 1990s may be less visible in the 21st century, but the stripped-down techno sound they pioneered continues to be influential and compelling.
