George Harrison faced down cancer and a failed attempt on his life by working on Brainwashed, which was completed by his son and his old friend Jeff Lynne and released posthumously. An unqualified success, it matches George's witty, surprisingly consistent songs with straightforward production. "Any Road" beats Tom Petty at his own game, the single "Stuck Inside a Cloud" is just lovely, and "Run So Far" proves that George was Lennon's greatest disciple. Much of George Harrison's solo career was erratic, and he could be lackadaisical, but he wrapped things up gracefully.
