With his swan song, Gerald LeVert offers a candle-lit bubble bath of wailing R&B. LeVert, who passed away soon after the record was completed, sings, "I want to say 'Damn, it's too good to be my song'" on the opening title track, and he means it. Tunes like the conciliatory "Hang In There" represent his power as a ballad singer, but when he takes tempos up a notch on songs like "Wanna Get Up With You" and "DJ Don't," his vocal authority can be every bit as invigorating.
