Glenn Jones puts his right hand in his front pocket, removes it with a clenched fist, turns up his palm and reveals a symphony. Such is the quaint ease that proceeds from this man and his guitar. "David and the Phoenix" surges and surrenders with an almost operatic voice, while "Little Dog's Day" is a nod to the tumbling blues-folk of his mentor and friend, John Fahey. "Against My Ruin" dances a bottleneck jig, and "The Teething Necklace (For John Fahey)" could be a conversation with the man.
