The second collaborative effort from Cee-Lo and Danger Mouse is coated in a vintage '60s sheen: hand-claps, Phil Spector acoustics and doubled-up beats readymade for doing the Pony. But in the hands of these two weirdos, those nostalgic sounds seem incredibly alien. This ability to make the familiar freaky is due in no small part to Cee-Lo's distinctive vocals (check his positively menacing wail on "Would Be Killer"). But lest you think Danger Mouse is the sane one in this odd couple, check out the otherworldly soundscape to "Open Book."
