Halo of Flies vocalist Tom Hazelmyer went on to become the Greg Ginn of Noise Rock. Whereas Ginn disbanded Black Flag to run his own SST label, Hazelmyer founded Amphetamine Reptile -- a forum for post-Hardcore's demagogues of dissonance. Of necessity, the Halo of Flies' output was sporadic, but could be counted on for consistently raucous, mangled Rockabilly structures turned inside-out by distorted vocals and sheets of feedback. Furthermore, the gall in Hazelmyer's lyrics was never less severe than the abrasiveness of his band's sound.
