Happy Mondays

No matter how many stories you read of the Mondays' excess, their thuggish behavior or their insane drug intake, nothing can take away from their unarguable musical talent. Theirs is the sound of "Madchester" -- that period in the early '90s when any music not from Manchester was just sad. Any fan of house, Northern soul or indie pop and rock will find something to love here, particularly "Step On," "Kinky Afro" and "Bob's Yer Uncle."
