Rhapsody

The partnership of Hazel Dickens and Alice Gerrard was an ideal one, as they both shared a passion and dedication to the original old-timey bluegrass/folk established by Uncle Dave Macon and the Carter Family. On the duo's 1973 album, they created a set of mostly originals that added a bit of much-needed feminism and genuine high lonesome soul to the genre.
