Just about the only goth song on the radio in the summer of 2007, "Kiss of Dawn" gets away with it by virtue of enough alt-metal crunch to make one think of Queens of the Stone Age's first album, singer Ville Valo's decidedly weird vocals and a genuinely infectious chorus. Perhaps the best thing about HIM is that you don't need to cake your face with white powder and give yourself raccoon eyes to enjoy their self-described "love metal," but you are certainly welcome to. "Kiss of Dawn" is the lead single from HIM's tenth album, Venus Doom.
