Hoobastank

A rare thing in the nu-metal arena, each song on Every Man for Himself seems to grapple with one philosophically complex idea or another. Whether it's singer Doug Robb's relationship with his massive audience or the inner war between who he is and who he needs to be to remain famous, the lyrics on this album stand out more than anything. Not such a surprise since Hoobastank has always been at least a little adventurous -- covering Rod Stewart and tossing odd sound effects into their singles.
