Infected Mushroom

Already the biggest name in psytrance, Israel's Infected Mushroom set their horizons wider with the follow-up to 2007's Vicious Delicious. Perry Farrell lends a creepy edge to "Killing Time," while Korn's Jonathan Davis guests on "Smashing the Opponent"; both sound a little like NIN and a lot like vintage Depeche Mode. Elsewhere, thundering electronic rhythms combine with chugging metal guitars, suggesting an odd cross between Master of Puppets and a Goa rave. But there's plenty of breaks and digital tweakery to keep old fans happy.
