Iron Maiden

"Benjamin Breeg" doesn't gallop the way Maiden songs of yore descended screaming from the heavens. Instead, the new single from Bruce Dickinson and friends churns with menace, like the sonic equivalent of a ghostship emerging from the horizon. Fittingly, the song itself is something of a ghost story as well. As ever, the guitars reach otherworldly peaks, Dickinson still sounds like he eats tigers for breakfast and, well, it's new Maiden, and not even some live re-hashing recorded in Brazil in front of five million people.
