Japancakes

Shoegazers and Cocteau Twins fans alike should delight in Japancakes' fifth album, especially the instrumental, pedal-steel heavy rendition of "Heaven Or Las Vegas" (rumors abound that the sixth Japancakes album will cover My Bloody Valentine's Loveless in its entirety). The rest of Giving Machines is comprised of cellos, bass, keyboard, guitar and drums, with the melodious pedal steel playing the part of a vocalist. Combining dream pop with Americana twang, this could be the only band pursuing what we're going to call the bootgazing sound.
