Truth be told, J.D. Crowe has been performing this material for five years before recording it, so factor in half a decade of practicing, performing and honing these sweet mountain songs and you need not worry about anyone having to sign parchment in their own blood. With airtight harmonies, lazy pedal steel, and warm tones, this album sounds as rich as Cliff Waldron's take on "Close The Door Lightly When You Go."
