Jens Lekman

Swedish crooner Jens Lekman will sweep you off your feet with his sophomore release, Night Falls Over Kortedala, a collection of lush, beautifully orchestrated indie pop songs over which Lekman exercises considerable lyrical wit and charm. Think Morrissey collaborating with Burt Bacharach and you get the idea. Songs such as "If I Could Cry" and "I'm Leaving You Because I Don't Love You" are two great examples of upbeat, whimsical songs going toe-to-toe with some of the most depressing and/or seemingly nonsensical lyrics on record. Feeling bummed out never sounded as joyful or elegant!
