Like his cousin, Ronnie Van Zandt, Jimme Van Zant just happens to play Southern Rock. And even though the Southland drove ol' Dixie down, he unabashedly flies the rebel flag on the cover of his 2000 album, predictably entitled Southern Comfort. His songs sound like Skynyrd on steroids -- fist pumping, hardened Southern Rock with a slight Alternative edge.
