Cash's second studio outing with Rick Rubin yielded another awesome album of covers. Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers provided exhilaratingly earthy accompaniment, even turning Beck's tetchy "Rowboat" into something that sounds like it influenced the Flying Burrito Bros. The infectious "Sea Of Heartbreak" is the centerpiece of this album, but "Spiritual" is more moving.
