Keith Anderson

About

For some people, musicianship is just another hat to try on. Keith Anderson was such a person, but fortunately for the country music community, he still hasn't taken that hat off. See, before donning a Stetson, he was wearing a Kansas City Royals pro cap. But he injured his shoulder, ending any possible careers as a baseball player. He then got into bodybuilding, winning several contests and landing a job as a model for various bodybuilding product catalogs. Before he got into country music, Anderson was flirting with hard southern rock until a copy of Willie Nelson's The Red Headed Stranger piqued his interest in heartfelt country songs. Realizing that he himself could pen a catchy ditty, Anderson took on some freelance work writing songs for commercial radio jingles before packing it up and heading to Music City, where he was recognized as a talented songwriter. He wrote "Beer Run" for George Jones and Garth Brooks, who had a hit with it in 2001, allowing Anderson to finally release his debut, Three Chord Country and American Rock & Roll, in 2005. In 2008, Anderson released his sophomore effort, C'mon, on new label Columbia Nashville.
