Best known for her appearance on American Idol, where she placed third after Ruben and Clay, Kimberley Locke won over audiences with her soulful rendition of "Over The Rainbow." She grew up in Tennessee and started singing at a young age, first alongside records and later as a member of the gospel-influenced girl group Shadez of U. After high school she sang with several groups in Nashville, including Black Widow and the Imperials. Influenced by legendary vocalists including Aretha Franklin and Whitney Houston, she released her debut LP One Love in the spring of 2004.
