On their fourth studio album, Kylesa take a few steps away from their hardcore roots to meld the crunchiness of Time Will Fuse Its Worth with the static sizzle of To Walk a Middle Course into a sort of psychedelic sludge. Textured atmospheric sounds are filtered in and out amid layers of crisp, buzzing guitars, relentless tribal drums and gripping vocals. Memorable tracks like "Running Red," "Only One" and the crushing closer "To Walk Alone" garner extra gold stars in an album worth a perfect 10.
