Ledisi

Ledisi can do everything from pitch-perfect soul to supper-club jazz. On Turn Me Loose, she turns up the volume and lets the funk loose, bringing a real 1970s bite to what is a very modern R&B outing. A more nuanced vocalist is revealed on the fine single "Goin' Thru Changes," while the concluding "Them Changes" recalls the fiery passion and unstoppably sexy fury of Tina Turner or Patti LaBelle. Maybe this is the one where Ledisi will finally break through -- something she's long deserved.
