Raised in County Dublin, Ireland, Lesley Roy started playing guitar at 7 years old, wrote her first song at age 11 and recorded her first demo at 15. Her youthful skill and perseverance earned her a record deal with indie label Religion Music and caught the attention of Jive. Together, the two labels released Roy's debut in 2008. She worked with famed producer Max Martin (Pink, Britney Spears, Kelly Clarkson) on the album, which is called Unbeautiful.
