Lil' Band O' Gold

About

In its own way this group is the Louisiana equivalent to the Texas Tornados or Los Super 7. The group's name is a nod to the great Swamp Pop and Cajun label Goldband, which was the Louisiana equivalent to Sun or Chess Records, churning out terrific regional and sometimes national hit records in the 1950s and '60s. The group is fronted by Cajun singer/accordionist Steve Riley, C.C. Adcock and veteran artist Warren Storm, a drummer who has played on countless records from Louisiana and a chart-topping Swamp Pop singer. All three are regional stars and have sizable cult followings. Together they play a loose, joyous blend of Cajun rock, Swamp Pop and '50s R&B.
