Lil' Ed & the Blues Imperials

About

One-time Chicago car wash employee Little Ed Williams plays raucous Chicago Blues inspired by his uncle J.B. Hutto, as well as other slide guitarists such as Hound Dog Taylor and Elmore James. Driven by slashing guitar and invitingly gritty vocals, Little Ed's songs are geared towards getting folks out on the dancefloor. Although his sound borrows heavily from the music that dominated Southside Chicago's blues clubs in the 1950s and '60s, it's updated with bits of Funk and an undeniable soul element in his voice. After he released his first record on Chicago's renowned Alligator label, he left the car wash forever.
