Lizz Wright has already shown that she may just have the finest RnB/jazz voice of her generation on her previous outings. With The Orchard, Wright returns home to the South for a set that finds room for supple crossover singles and grittier down-home fare. "My Heart" deserves major RnB airplay, while the cover of Led Zeppelin's "Thank You" should have Robert Plant giving Wright a heartfelt thanks. Wright once again uses a rootsy Americana guitar sound to beautiful effect, especially on the ballad "Speak Your Heart," which uses her beautiful pipes with rare class and discretion.
