Los Horoscopos De Durango

About

Los Horoscopos de Durango are one of the originators of the Duranguense sound. Formed in Chicago in 1975 by band director Armando Terrazas, the band is hailed for its trademark use of tuba, drum and sax to drive and ornament the famously bouncy rhythms. Still, Los Horoscopes labored in relative obscurity until the next generation of Terrazases -- Armando's daughters Vicky and Marisol -- were old enough to join. Their father had trained them since childhood for careers in music, and when they began singing as adults, the group's fortunes improved dramatically -- thanks in no small part to the sisters' sex appeal. The band won three Latin Billboard awards in 2005 for Dos Locos, and two -- Best Regional Mexican Song and Best Regional Mexican Album -- the following year.
