How does Rhapsody work on a Mac?

Our Mac users are important to us, and that's why we developed Rhapsody Online, a website that lets you listen to millions of songs on your Mac with just a lightweight plug-in. Listening to music on Rhapsody Online is fast, doesn't interfere with your other programs, and doesn't bog down your hard drive.

How do I start listening to music on Rhapsody with my Mac?

Click the Play button next to any track, and download our lightweight (less than 1.2 MB) plug-in. The Rhapsody Player appears in a pop-up window, so you'll need to have pop-up blocking disabled. Once that's done, you can listen to the whole thing - not just the 30-second sample.

Note: In order to have the best listening experience, make sure your Mac meets the system requirements. You can play music with Rhapsody Online from Safari and Firefox web browsers.

What are the advantages of listening with Rhapsody Online?

You can play tracks from our huge catalog of music just by clicking Play. You don?t need to buy anything, and no tracks are stored on your hard drive.

All Rhapsody members can listen to millions of tracks from our music library. You can play tracks and videos, hear old favorites, and discover new music when you listen to commercial-free Rhapsody Channels or visit Playlist Central.

Can I purchase tracks from Rhapsody and download them onto my Mac?

No. Tracks are not available for download and purchase on the Mac. But with Rhapsody Online on the Mac, you can listen to tracks without needing to download or purchase them. Just click a Play button, install our lightweight plug-in, and start listening.

What are my membership options with Rhapsody on the Mac?

You can listen to Rhapsody Online with both our free service and with a Rhapsody Unlimited membership.

With our free service, you get 25 free full-length song plays per month and can listen to select Rhapsody Channels. With Rhapsody Unlimited, you can play any song you want, as many times as you want, for a monthly fee.
