Madlib

Though this album is billed as a soundtrack to an unmade film, that conceit seems more like an afterthought, as Beat Konducta is ultimately a Rorschach inkblot of a concept album. Still, Madlib's short, formless soul loops are more appealing than most polished pop-hop songs, and this is another solid entry into an already expansive catalog.
