This, the Manics' eighth studio album, debuted at No. 2 on the UK charts, just below the Arctic Monkeys' Favourite Worst Nightmare, indicating the band still packs a commercial wallop in spite, or perhaps because of, more than 15 years of espousing anti-capitalist, working man sentiments. Those fanatic legions will find plenty to satisfy them here, including evidence that these guys borrowed as much from Cheap Trick as anyone -- "Imperial Bodybags" sounds like "I Want You to Want Me," only it's about, well, you can probably guess. Solidly Manics, maniacally solid.
