Marie Digby

On her second album, Marie Digby all but abandons the sunny sound that earned her comparisons to Colbie Caillat. Instead, we get icy dance beats and uplifting pop that verges on adult contemporary. In fact, if you just listen to the juxtaposition of "Love With a Stranger" (with its sleek, Evanescence-y drama) and "Come to Life" (just waiting for a teen dance movie cameo), you'll get the basic idea of the album. Nothing jaw-dropping and, frankly, Digby's pretty voice gets lost in all the production. Still, one Colbie is enough, so it's nice to see Digby spreading her wings a bit.
