Mason Jennings is often thrown into the same adult alternative category as Jack Johnson, Damien Rice and Donavon Frankenreiter. Yet the dude possesses more edge and versatility than many of his peers. Instead of James Taylor and Van Morrison, Jennings' primary influences are Lou Reed and Jonathan Richman. In fact, the tune "Pittsburgh" sounds like an outtake from Sally Can't Dance. Dig deeper into Blood of Man and you'll discover Jennings exploring everything from retro-blues rock to new folk.
