Melee's piano-driven pop sound is tailor-made for soundtracks to TV shows like Grey's Anatomy and The OC. The band's major label debut gets an extra coat of polish compared to their emo indie release, trading in the strains of Jimmy Eat World for the vibe of the Fray and Ben Folds. "Built to Last" (which recalls the exuberance of the New Radicals' "You Get What You Give") is the unequivocal showstopper here, but don't miss "Can't Hold On," "Love Carries On" and the dead-ringer cover of Hall & Oates' "You Make My Dreams."
