About

After years spent as New Wave's answer to Jim Morrison, INXS's Michael Hutchence retired -- or was forced -- from the spotlight, due mainly to a few flopped albums. Neither solo efforts, nor the last wheezes of INXS seemed to be having any effect on the general populace, though Hutchence continued to collaborate with fellow musicians on songwriting. A new, posthumous solo album collects these final efforts, samples of which have enjoyed early release over the Internet. Mingling hip-hop beats, smoothed-down psychedelic synthesizers and Hutchence's signature "scream-till-you-sigh" vocal style, these tunes exude a sort of mid-'90s appeal that should thrill die hard X fans who enjoy seeing '80s icons airbrushed with watered-down versions of late breaking musical styles like hip-hop and electronica.
