Minor Threat

Just after the Sex Pistols introduced the modern world to punk's brash hedonism, Minor Threat's Out of Step acquainted a small handful of loyal DC punks with the movement's capacity for DIY community-building and establishment-bucking. Those punks started bands that inspired still more bands, and today we have the Warped Tour. But this is where it started: two minute slab after two minute slab of crunchy guitars, locked in bass lines, and Ian MacKaye's unmistakable screaming: "I don't smoke/ I don't drink...I'm out of step with the world." Damn right.
