If you like your country served with a side of the Byrds, you'll take to Montgomery Gentry's new single like a duck to water. "Back When I Knew It All" begins with chiming guitars and a guitar lick from the Roger McGuinn songbook; maybe the "back when" in the song refers to 1965? In any case, the heart of the song lies in its reminiscing -- reminiscing about love, God, parents, etc. -- done with a sense of humor and those fabulous Montgomery Gentry harmonies.
