During one of the Breeders' 1994 Lollapalooza performances, Kim Deal was quoted saying that she would be happy if she could pen songs as pretty as the ones that Teenage Fanclub write about girls. Young Scottish musicians Mr D must have formed an entire band on the concept of her quote. Wings And Wheels is a near perfect Scottish-bred, guitar-pop album that recalls Teenage Fanclub's more amorous anthems, the Thrills' boyish adoration of California and Cosmic Rough Riders' penchant for harmonious pop that jingles, jangles and shimmers like golden Rickenbackers from the heavens above.
