Superstar California lifestyle label Ubiquity Records digs up another soulful, funky gem in Nino Moschella. The Fix, Moschella's full-length debut, is easily one of the underground albums of 2006, a slick, groove-laden dark horse that'll inevitably get overshadowed by big-budget, major label stars like Justin Timberlake and David Craig. Which is a shame; the Northern Cali native has the voice, the chops and the pure, unmitigated soul to carry the torch proudly for fellow Bay Area maestro Sly Stone.
