Winner of a Victoires de la Musique award in France, La Femme Chocolat is a playful beast that guides you through a veritable fairyland of music. Ruiz coos and whispers and crows over songs that range from orchestral or carnival-esque to straight-up chanson, without ever becoming precious. Best of all, she's funny: songs like "Therapie De Groupe" might translate even to non-French-speakers.
