Forget bluegrass traditionalism. Throughout the '60s, Bobby and Sonny Osborne ditched convention and created powerful bluegrass. Some of the stuff on this 10-track overview veers close to heavy metal and free jazz in terms of mechanical propulsion and fiery jamming. Of course, it's still bluegrass, the sound of the Smoky Mountains, but man oh man, dig those blitzkrieg electric axe runs on "Ruby." That song rages so hard, you'll be cranking it all night long.
