Rhapsody

Master pianist Oscar Peterson sits down with bassist Ray Brown for an easygoing, yet still charged, duets session. While "Caravan" starts things off with a rollicking bop romp through the Duke Ellington/Juan Tizol classic, the set goes on to uncover the duo's skill at gentle ballads, finger-snapping medium tempo numbers and cocktail jazz. "Salute to Garner" lives up to its title, with Peterson paying homage to the jaunty, punchy Errol Garner playing style.
