Paul Anka

Paul Anka returns to the rock songbook and puts a Vegas spin on songs by Duran Duran, Bob Seger and others. Anka's version of the Killers' "Mr. Brightside" is completely awesome and showcases the song's swaggering lyrics. Likewise, he does wonders with Foreigner's "A Girl Like You" (we swear!) and Daniel Powter's "Bad Day." Oddly enough, the best-written numbers here (Joni Mitchell's "Both Sides Now" and "Time After Time") come off the worst. Anka also performs two of his own compositions.
